Gadsden City Alternative School serves all secondary schools in the Gadsden City School system. Students attending GCAS live within Gadsden's city limits. Gadsden City Alternative School offers students and the Gadsden City School system an alternative to the traditional school setting. GCAS offers a compensatory program that addresses the comprehensive needs of all students. Gadsden City Alternative school offers an accelerated path to graduation through the Second Chance program. The alternative school also assists 11th and 12th grade students with job/career placement goals.

Gadsden City Alternative School provides an educational setting to address the Behavioral and Personal needs of students who have experienced problems in the traditional school setting. Our goals are to help students build self-esteem, to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to be successful, and to be socially responsible. .

Students should frequently check email accounts to make sure that they have all current assignments. Please make sure that all Google Classroom assignments are submitted. If you have trouble accessing any virtual sessions, please contact your teacher ASAP. In addition to assignments, links to other educational resources will be provided.
